LWV-BMC provides information on how our government works, particularly at the local level, in order to promote active participation in our democracy at all levels. The Civics Education Committee engages with adults and youth to provide tools to obtain the civics education necessary for good citizenship. We act as an educational resource, developing articles, presentations, white papers, and other materials needed to convey factual information about government and governmental issues to the general public. We believe that all education should be ongoing—there will always be a new crop of voters needing to understand their government and more students needing to learn how to be informed voters.
