Monroe County Primary and General Elections 2024

Your Vote Matters!

  • Don't neglect primaries...in a gerrymandered state, the winner of the general election can be determined in the primary.
  • The results of elections affect your life every day.
  • Your vote is your voice. If you don’t vote, you are turning your government over to others.
  • If everyone votes, it ensures that we’re all represented in our government, not just those with greater wealth or advantages.

Did You Know?*

  • A Washington state GOP House primary in 2002 was determined by one vote out of more than 11,000.*
  • In the U.S. Senate race in 2008, Minnesota Democrat Al Franken defeated Republican Norm Coleman by just 312 out of almost 2.9 million votes.*
  • A New Mexico state House seat was decided in 2016 by two votes out of almost 14,000.*
  • The 2022 race for Indiana House of Representatives District 62, which includes part of Monroe County, was decided by just 74 votes.**
