The presidential election is not the only time to earn an “I voted” sticker. Midterm elections, when voters choose members of Congress, state legislators, and governors, are essential to meaningful representation and the creation of state and local laws. These elections shape one-third of the U.S. government, alongside the presidency and the judiciary, making them a powerful and significant part of our democracy.
