Legislative Updates

Legislative updates for 2024 were held on three Saturdays - January 27, February 17, and March 2 - each from 9:30 to 11 am. All Indiana representatives and senators for Monroe, Brown, and Johnson counties were invited to report on their work and priorities for the current session of the Indiana General Assembly and take questions from attendees. This was an opportunity for citizens to tell legislators about topics they believe warrant attention in the 2024 state legislature and hear what their legislators say about important issues.

The Leagues of Women Voters of Bloomington-Monroe County, Brown County, and Johnson County, and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce were pleased to co-sponsor these updates.
All sessions were free and open to the public. Recordings of each session are linked from this page.

Legislative Town Hall

All state legislators who represent a portion of Monroe County and Brown County were invited to a legislative town hall at the Council Chambers in Bloomington City Hall, Saturday, Dec. 2, from 9:30-11:00 am. Senator Shelli Yoder and Representative Matt Pierce participated. Christopher Emge, Director of Advocacy and Public Policy at the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, was the moderator.  This event provided citizens a way to tell legislators about topics they believe warrant attention in the state legislature in 2024. CATS TV recorded the program, which can be accessed here.
